Dan Landsberg Dragonfly at Hotel ZaZa

The iPhone roams again!  This time to one of the coolest spots in Dallas, Hotel ZaZa.  And, it just so happens that Executive Chef Dan Landsberg has his new spring menu rolling out for breakfast, lunch and dinner at Dragonfly.  Catch his tasty take on a BLT, or in this case DLT, with house cured duck instead of bacon.  It’s delicious.  Take a look as we salute another of the “Great Chefs of Savor Dallas”.  Dan joins us for the International Grand Tasting this weekend (March 30-31) at the 8th Annual Savor Dallas.

Great Chefs of Savor Dallas–Cesar Gallegos, Stoneleigh Hotel, Bolla

Have iPhone will travel!  This time we visit the kitchen of a talented young chef who moved here from San Antonio, first to help David Bull open Bolla, and then, after a stint back home, returned as executive chef of the venerable Dallas institution, The Stoneleigh Hotel.  He loves to cook and is expressive with his recipes.  He sees the restaurant moving into more Latin inspired dishes in the coming months.  See two of Chef Cesar’s favorite dinner menu items in this edition of our on-going webisode saluting chefs who’ll be joining us at Savor Dallas.  Enjoy!

Prime Plus is Sublime

I love it that chefs can just whip up several delicacies in the blink of an eye.  That’s exactly what Executive Chef Grant Morgan did the other day when our roving iPhone and I stopped by Bailey’s Prime Plus Park Lane location.  One minute it’s “Hi.  How ya doin’?”  The next thing you know, he’s preparing some of the delicious signature items you can get at Bailey’s every night.  See him in action here, and be sure to join Grant at Savor Dallas March 31st.  Grant didn’t reveal what he’ll be serving in the International Grand Tasting, but we suspect he will be true to his restaurant’s namesake:  “Prime Plus”.  Yummy.  Enjoy.

Parsley, sage, rosemary, and Chef André

Trusty iPhone in hand, we headed to the beautiful Fairmont Hotel in Dallas so that Chef André Natera could show us around his rooftop herb garden.  He also gave us a taste of the bounty–even flourishing in the winter, though not as lush as the spring and summer.  He’s an interesting guy–into Zen and other great philosophies–who loves to cook and his job as executive chef of the Pyramid Restaurant and Bar and the Fairmont Dallas.  Here are highlights from our visit and Andre reveals what he’ll be serving at Savor Dallas on March 31st.  Bon appétit!

Chef Lidia Bastianich and the Art of Mozzarella
