The health benefits of Pinot Noir have been reported by numerous sources and the following excerpt is one such account.  “There is one component in which Pinot Noir seems naturally quite rich, three to four times higher compared to other varieties, especially when it is grown in cooler and more humid climates: resveratrol. While this may not affect the aspects of sensory enjoyment, it may draw the attention of health-conscious consumers…Clinical and statistical evidence and laboratory studies have shown that resveratrol boosts the immune system, blocks the formation of some cancers, offers protections against heart disease, and even prolongs life generally. Research is in its relative infancy, since resveratrol only gained the attention of the scientific community near the end of the 20th Century.” Excerpt from winepros.com

red grapes.jpg Specifically, the Faultline “Hirsch Vineyards” Pinot Noir 2008 is an outstanding wine offering mouth-coating and expressive flavors of fresh crushed black raspberries, intense ripe cherries, and concentrated black currants with an impeccable balance.  It’s almost reminiscent of a de-classified Grand Cru Burgundy. Considering that all the fruit is sourced from some of the highest sought after vineyards in Sonoma Coast – it’s almost expected to exude this type of quality.  Currently, there are only 112 cases available – Don’t miss out on this one!
